[00:00:00] You are listening to episode 303 of the Peaceful Mind Podcast.
Welcome to the Peaceful Mind Podcast, a place for creating the peace of mind. You need to be the best mom you are created by God to be. If you want to bring more balance, more joy, and more peace to your motherhood, this is the place for you. I'm your host, certified life coach at Catholic Mom Danielle Tal.
In the name of the Father of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Let's get started.
Hello, beautiful mamas and welcome back to another episode of the Peaceful Mind Podcast. I'm your host Danielle, and I'm grateful to be with you here today. Now, I always hesitate to talk. In the present [00:01:00] of what's actually happening now. This is a episode that is being released at the beginning of December, so the end of the year.
We've just finished, the Thanksgiving holidays. We are in full swing for advent season Christmas and all that goes on with the end of the year and the holiday season. And what why I hesitate is because these episodes, they are available to you year round. But the honest truth is that today's topic has come because I am thinking of you and what you are going through your pain points and your suffering and the things that are keeping you out of having peace of mind at this time.
Of the year. But of course for anybody who is listening to this episode, not in the, real time of when it was released, but a [00:02:00] later time, you, a hundred percent can benefit from what I'm gonna offer you today. If you are feeling what we label or what you're labeling at the time is exhaustion. Today I want to offer you three really powerful verses to eliminate exhaustion.
And two of them I think you're definitely gonna be like, oh yeah, I know that one and one of 'em won't be one that is one of the more popular verses, but I, there's a reason why I chose the three that I did. And then I also, before we jump into the heart of it. I want you to see that or to know that I also released an episode very early on in the first year, it was episode number 35 of the Peaceful Mind Podcast that was [00:03:00] called Three Powerful Verses to Beat Defeat, and that is, and continues to be one of my more popular ones that.
Maybe people are out there searching. And then maybe that's the way you found today's podcast. 'cause you're like, I'm utterly exhausted. And you went out there and you tried to find some answers and I'm hoping that this is, the answers that you are looking for when you can name that you are feeling exhaustion, because some of you out here who are listening to this today, there's a really good chance that you're really feeling weary.
And maybe it's physical exhaustion. I am talking about that, right? Dragging your feet to the coffee pot barely feeling like you make it through the day. Maybe it's more of the emotional kind of exhaustion, the kind that doesn't really go away with a nap. There is that deep kind of [00:04:00] soul level tiredness.
When we have the, the monotony of our life or like a new circumstances that is super heavy and pressured is in our life, and there's this tiredness, right? That whispers to our hearts that says, I don't know how much longer I can keep going like this. And if that's where you are, mama, you are not alone.
I've definitely been there many times. And again, what kind of the culmination of what brings me to coming up with these certain topics that I picked to talk about on the podcast is that I, in my life my group life coaching program right now, I can think of five mamas right now who have, they're either about to have another child or they are, they've just recently given birth anywhere from six weeks to six months. And and we, I've been helping many of them. And when they [00:05:00] come to our. Our live coaching calls together. I've been coaching on this, that they're, just literally exhausted.
So in addition to those three verses that I am going to offer you that you can use in these scenarios I also just wanna reiterate this because of that recent coaching with my clients, I will never. Ever stop preaching, teaching, inspiring, asking, demonstrating the importance of your own personal self care.
And it is just that, even though so at Word I know it's thrown a lot and oh Mama, you gotta take care of yourself. But it is absolutely true. Especially when we're mothers and we're dealing with that. We have [00:06:00] this, that we're, one of our main roles is to rear these other human beings. The amount of love time physical tension, all of our wellbeing like is put out into these other humans.
So if you are exhausted. Maybe today when you hear you can't be exquisite enough in the time and attention that you give to your own personal self-care because when you are feeling better, not like feeling amazing, feeling great hopefully that's it. But if you are just feeling better, then these really hard, heavy negative emotions. When you get yourself ticked up on the tier to getting closer to the more positive ones, you will get better results. You will feel better. You will start showing up for your life [00:07:00] more in a way that you are wanting to. And I do have a podcast. I don't have the number off the top of my head.
I didn't look it up, didn't know that I was gonna offer it today, but it is called, exquisite self-care or how to have exquisite self-care, something around that. So definitely Google that and get your amazing reminders. And I go I dive deeper into that all that we want for our kids. For them to be happy, for them to make good choices and good decisions for them to have clarity for them, to put them, to really, have good mental and emotional, spiritual, physical wellbeing, all that we wish for them, it will happen.
More so if you first mama learn how to do that yourself. Okay, so that was like a little side note because I wanted to be able to say that I understand when this exhaustion happens and if this is you, I wanna start off with today, [00:08:00] with before these verses to just let you know that if you are in the state of exhaustion, God sees you.
He sees your long days, he sees the endless to-do lists. Your service that feels unseen when your heavy heart, the one you c carry when you're pouring out your love and care and there's just not much left for yourself. And so today, this is not another task that I'm adding to your list.
I want to just offer you three powerful scriptures verses from God's word that aren't just encouragement, but they are living, breathing promises that were given to us that are meant to fill your weary soul. When you are exhausted, and this will help you eliminate the exhaustion, if you find yourself here, if you go to these verses that speak directly to you, [00:09:00] the tired hearted mama in the trenches of motherhood, okay?
So first of all, out there, if you're in a place, let's just take a deep breath together. Let's just exhale. And I want you to receive these verses, not as commands, but as like a gift. Gift from our Heavenly Father who loves you endlessly and wants to remind you that you're not alone and that rest is found in him.
And we're, I'm just gonna go straight to number one. Okay. Matthew 11:28. It says. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Oh, mama, isn't that, it's just like a warm blanket and a soft pillow. And it's also a really cold or first really [00:10:00] cold day of the fall slash winter season.
So I love that analogy. This is. Jesus with his arms open wide, saying that you don't have to carry it all. He doesn't say, come to me when you've figured it all out. He doesn't say, come to me after you've gotten it all together. He says, come to me as you are, and so you know your circumstances of your family where you are, what's exhausting, right?
With this mess, with the undone laundry, with the tantrums you're facing, the worries you're carrying, the overwhelm, you're feeling about all that you have going on, and he tells you he will give you rest. Real rest. The kind that you don't get from eight hours of sleep. Although, let's be honest, we would take that too, right?
But this is like the soul rest, the peace, a lightness, a calmness. It's like a holy [00:11:00] permission for you to have a big breath in your life, right? So how, what does this look like, right? How can we come to him like in a practical sense? Here's a few small ways you can just whisper his name when you feel yourself reaching that point.
Maybe a the brink of, maybe you're snapping, right? This was part of what I was coaching my clients on this week. My, my new mamas postpartum, other lots of other kids take care of, and they found themselves like snapping more. This is, that, that is the tell sign that you have exhaustion. So we must, we want to put this verse into play by whispering his name.
Okay, and I did that a little bit prior to this. And the next thing could be to take a deep breath, right? And in that breath, we can say, Jesus, I need [00:12:00] your rest right now. I'm always saying if there are verses in the Bible that you wanna keep front of mind for your mindset to focus on, then put this verse on a card.
Put it on your fridge, put it on your mirror, put it in your purse. We can take and pause in 30 seconds, close our eyes, invite him into that moment that we're feeling exhaustion. And this is how these verses, we repeat 'em, we say them once again. We just pause and put our mind towards Jesus, asking him, saying, we're weary, we're burdened.
I'm coming to you. It doesn't have to be elaborate. The invitation is simple and the reward for you will be peace and maybe a renewed energy, what you're [00:13:00] after. Okay. The second verse is Isaiah 40:29 which says, "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak." Yeah, this one is a powerhouse, quite literally, and that's what we're looking for in our exhaustion.
We are weary, we feel weak, right? We also, there's many days in our motherhood when we feel just powerless, right? Like we've hit our limit emotionally, physically, spiritually, and yet God promises that in our weakness, he is strong. Again, it doesn't say anything about not in our perfection of it all, not when we finally get through it, and the do the to-do list is done, but right here, right now, when the weary and weak is your present situation, [00:14:00] and this verse, it tells us something radical about exhaustion.
That is not something to be ashamed of, okay? It's an opportunity for God to step in. Let's face it, we just, we get up, we do our routines, we start, we go, the end of the day comes and then we've just forgotten, right? We've forgotten that that God is there. So what I'm asking you is to stop trying to power through in your own strength and invite him in.
And that's what we do when we take our mind to these verses. That's when the divine energy will show up for you. That's when you will feel that extra measure of grace to speak gently when you just want to crawl under the covers or when you wanna yell, right? That's when you have just enough patience.[00:15:00]
For the bedtime meltdown that might come from the kids. That's when you choose hope, even when your circumstances aren't different, right? The kids haven't all of a sudden started listening to everything that you're asking for the first time around. You don't need to manufacture strength. It's already offered, so you wanna ask yourself.
Where do I feel weak right now? Okay, so again, Isaiah 40:29 says "He gives you strength to the weary and icreases the power of the weak.". So get specific in that moment. Ask yourself, where am I feeling weary right now? So that you can apply this verse. And then the next question is, can I let God be strong for me in this area?
His strength in you [00:16:00] is more than enough. So you've asked, where do I feel weak right now? And you have pinpointed it. And then you said, can I let God be strong for me? This an area in this area, and you wanna say yes. And so then you go to the verse, he gives me strength. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak Lord, please give me strength in.
And then you tell him where you're feeling weak right now. Okay, the third verse, this is the one where might not be a top of mind, one that you know, but there's a reason why I'm picking it, and it is from Zephaniah 3:17. It says, "The Lord your God is with you. The mighty warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you, in his love. He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing." So I wanted to offer [00:17:00] you something that's truly life giving for our third verse today. Something that feels like just a smile from God, because let's be honest, when we're exhausted, it can feel like we're failing.
I know that some of you choose that mindset and that line of belief and thinking when you're exhausted, you choose that equals or means that you're failing, like you're not doing enough, like you're somehow disappointing everyone and maybe including God. But this verse could be your daily reminder that God.
Not standing over you with a checklist. He's not waiting for you to do better. He's actually delighting in you in all of it. And then there's that visual, which I definitely have not even thought of, not even a half a dozen time in my lifetime that [00:18:00] he would be rejoicing over me with singing. So can we just sit with that for a moment?
Picture God. Your creator, your father, singing over you, not because of what you did today, but simply because you are his. And that's not guilt, that's grace, that's love. That's refreshing. And this is what we want the refreshing, because we're exhausted. This verse reminds us that we don't have to earn God's approval.
He's already smiling. And when we feel unseen in our motherhood, when the days blend together and no one says thank you, this truth can hold us up. That you are loved. You are celebrated. You are adored, right in the middle of your mess. I just want to give you permission today to actually believe. [00:19:00] That it's possible that what I'm offering you is true in the middle of your mess.
You are adored. So if you're finding yourself collapsing into bed tonight, thinking, I didn't get enough done, let this verse whisper back, you are enough because you are mine. Okay, so these three verses, let's tie them together, right? They don't tell you to hustle harder. They don't pile on guilt or demand perfection for you.
They invite you to do three things. The first verse that is Matthew 11:28. Come to me all ye who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. The second one, Isaiah 40:29. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. And [00:20:00] number three, Zephaniah 3:17. The Lord your God is with you, the mighty warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you, in his love. He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. So the first one, come and receive rest. The second, be filled with divine strength. And the third, know that you are delighted in not judged. And Mama isn't this what we all need? We need truth that lifts the weight from us.
We need promises that pour in peace to us, and we need God's voice to drown out the lies that I know your brain are offering, that you are not enough. So this week I wanna challenge you to pick one of these verses and carry it with you, like literally as a visual or [00:21:00] in your heart, memorize it, right?
Maybe it's Matthew 1128, taped to your bathroom mirror. Maybe it's Isaiah 40 29, scribbled in your journal again and again. Maybe it's Zephaniah at three 17 saved as your phone wallpaper so you can see it. Whatever you choose, let it be your lifeline to help you eliminate exhaustion. And remember, you're not alone in this journey.
Your exhaustion is not a sign of failure. It's a sign that you're human, that you've chosen to live a big, full life, that you're taking things on, that you're giving it your all, that you're trying your best, that you're, maybe just forgotten some things and that you're deeply in need of the one who does promise to carry you.
I hope today's message [00:22:00] stirred something in your heart filled you with peace, gave you practical focus and steps to take when and if let's just say it's probably when exhaustion, strikes again. And if you are longing to build a life where more peace of mind less exhaustion is the norm, not the exception, then I would love to walk with you further on this subject.
